• ABOUT THE ARTISTS •

Christian Perry and Eric Tsuchiyama are the creators of Sockz Studio, a production studio which uses puppetry and upcycled art as the primary medium. Their short film "Orbie" was featured in The New York Times' "5 Things To Do This Weekend" in 2022. Their adaptation "Little Speckled Frogs" (2021) was an official selection of Best of BAMkids Film Festival and Children's Film Festival Seattle, where it was awarded Best Art Direction. They also received a 2021 Telly Award for their retelling of the classic, "Three Little Pigs." Christian and Eric both have backgrounds in art and theatre. They hope to unleash your imagination and encourage radical creativity.

Christian Perry | Creator

Christian Perry is a multimedia storyteller and artist. He has a background in theatre and has performed Off-Broadway and throughout the US. His work has been highlighted in The New York TimesThe Boston Globe, and others. Christian is also a teaching-artist and works closely with schools and museums to facilitate art and literacy programs. He is inspired to create work that infuses equal parts humor and heart.

 

Eric Tsuchiyama | Creator

Eric is an artist and designer. He has a background in theatre and dance (where, appropriately, he played mostly non-human characters). Eric has worked extensively as a graphic designer for Broadway productions and other live events including: The Tony Awards; The Phantom of the Opera; Beetlejuice; and Wicked. He is inspired to work on projects that encourage creativity, foster community, and inspire a love for our planet.

 

Cricket | Studio Supervisor

Cricket is a 15-year-old Chihuahua. Before joining the Sockz team, she was the Chief Security Officer for Paradise Gardens Retirement Community. Cricket has a robust resume, having successfully intimidated hundreds of postal workers and delivery drivers. As Studio Supervisor, she oversees the day-to-day operations; most notably, Craft Services.
