ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Sockz Studio is a creative collaboration between artists Christian Perry and Eric Tsuchiyama. Bringing handcrafted storytelling to life through inventive puppetry, visual artistry, and absurd comedy.
Their adaptation of I Know An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly (2023) was screened in theaters across the U.S. as part of Children’s Film Festival Seattle’s Best of the Fest Tour. Their short film Orbie (2022) was featured in The New York Times' 5 Things To Do This Weekend, and their original series The Lab Rat (2025) was an official selection of Best of BAMKids Film Festival (Honorable Mention) at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
With over 2.5 million channel views, Sockz Studio has cultivated a rapidly growing digital audience. In 2024, they partnered with Red Tower Books—one of the fastest-growing publishing imprints (home to the mega-hit Fourth Wing)—to produce Sock Puppet Summaries, a fresh and comedic take on book recaps. They’ve also teamed up with Miami-Dade Public Library for Music & Materials, a series of artist visits bringing their imaginative art practice to local communities.
Through a mix of nostalgia, found-object art, and offbeat humor, Sockz Studio continues to redefine puppetry for a new generation.

Christian Perry | Creator
Christian Perry is a multimedia artist and storyteller. He has a background in theatre and has performed Off‑Broadway and throughout the US. His work has been highlighted in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and others. Christian is also a teaching‑artist and works closely with schools, museums, and libraries to facilitate art and literacy programs. He is inspired to create work that infuses equal parts humor and heart.

Eric Tsuchiyama | Creator
Eric is an artist and designer. He has a background in theatre and dance (where, appropriately, he has mostly portrayed non-human characters). Eric has worked extensively as a graphic designer for Broadway productions and other live events including: The Tony Awards; The Phantom of the Opera; Wicked; Jersey Boys; and many others. His favorite part of the Sockz creative process is building and bringing to life the kooky collection of puppet characters.

Cricket | Studio Supervisor
Cricket is a 17-year-old Chihuahua. Before joining the Sockz team, she was the Chief Security Officer for Paradise Gardens Retirement Community. Cricket has a robust resume, having successfully intimidated hundreds of postal workers and delivery drivers. As Studio Supervisor, she oversees the day-to-day operations; most notably, Craft Services.
